Best Pokémon and teams in PokéDefense: November 2 picks

For this week’s Deoxys, consider Gastly and Sableye for compatible damage. Choose Tower recruits by the damage, control and support your next wave needs.

Reviewed:

Best picks for the current Deoxys Weekly

For the November 2 Weekly Challenge, prioritize Gastly and Sableye as compatible damage choices against Psychic Deoxys. They are already in the fixed team, so no hatch is required to select them for that activity.

  • Gastly gives Ghost damage and reveals nearby hidden Ghost enemies. A revealed enemy still keeps its type immunities: Ghost attacks do not damage Normal targets.
  • Sableye brings Dark damage and the sleep role, including Dark Void. Keep a useful control option alongside your damage rather than filling every spot with one attacker.
  • Clefairy supports nearby attackers with an aura. Place the attackers inside its support radius; a buffer elsewhere does not strengthen them. Upgrade for the next threat and the budget shown in the original game.

Which Starfall Tower recruit should you choose?

Use this role shortlist when the named Pokémon is offered. It follows the November 2 pool and current move roles; it is not a numerical ranking of every Pokémon.

  • Need control? Sableye supplies sleep; Duskull offers Ghost splash damage and slowing. Choose an effect whose attack type can affect the enemies you need to stop.
  • Need to clear groups? Magnemite offers Electric chain attacks, with a chain-five or area option among its fourth-star moves. Electric does not cover Ground enemies.
  • Need a different damage type and slowing? Ponyta’s current Fire role uses splash attacks and slow, with an area option. Beldum offers Steel area damage and can change to Psychic through its move choice; inspect that choice against the next enemy types.
  • Need support or reach? Clefairy boosts nearby allies. Natu offers long-range hits, with single-target or three-target fourth-star choices. Recruit the missing role before duplicating a job already covered.

Build a team you can actually afford

Choose a compatible damage dealer, a Ghost answer where needed, and control or support that reaches the same path. Add a second damage type for the immunity or resistance your first attacker cannot handle.

  • In Weekly Tower you draft from the offered pool; listing all 12 possible lines is not a promise that you can choose all of them at the start. Compare each recruitment or upgrade card with the next difficult wave.
  • For Free Climb, the current pool allows at most one legendary. Legendaries enter through later recruitment, not the starting draft; do not plan an all-legendary opening.
  • Use the original Sandbox to try a placement or interaction with your chosen rules. This page gives selection reasons, not a measured win rate or a guaranteed clear.

Keep the Kanto and Johto practice examples

The earlier team guide and calculators remain available for their October 22 v164 model. Use them to practise budgeting and coverage, while checking current v288 prices and moves in the original game.

  • A v164 easy Classic example is Charmander ₽200 + Squirtle ₽200 + Gastly ₽300 = ₽700. It covers several attack needs but spends the entire opening budget, leaving no upgrade reserve.
  • The older guide also compares late support pairs such as Tyranitar and Blissey. Those are versioned planning examples, not current total-price or tier claims. The linked database and tools have not been fully updated to Hoenn or v288. Beginnings, final forms and fourth-star moves must be compared under the same mode and conditions.
